Adoptions!

Colette was found wandering high in the Bradshaw Mountains outside of Prescott. She had recently had a litter of pups, though none where ever found. Depressed and lonely, Colette was temporarily fostered in by compassionate and caring folks in Prescott before being transported down to AZPyrs Rescue. Colette (now Catie) was adopted by a wonderful lady and is once again living it up - right back in Prescott! A certain happy turn of events!

Clamity Jane (CJ) is proof of the potato chip theory - You can't have just one Pyr!. Last month, CJ's new home adopted Hamlet. Now these two Pyrs can enjoy each other's company.

Chloe is a 1yr old female. She was an owner turn in and it did not take long to find this girl a new home. She is playful and keeps her her foster mom's puppy very busy!.

Bob renamed "Cowboy", came to AZPyrs though Sun Cities Animal Rescue. Bob is a 1 yr old male with personality plus!. His new home is complete horses, a Marine Coon cat, and a 17 yr old Briard!. Cowboy was sighted at teh Parada Del Sol Parade and the rest was history.

Peppy, now Shelby, a 2+- badger male, is a true "people dog." This young guy has everything going for him - a beautiful face, a wonderful, playful disposition, a great coat! Shelby is also very much still a pup - he loves to chase tennis balls, go for hikes and adores riding in the car - which pleases his new Phoenix family just fine. Shelby is happily learning the ropes (and rules!) of his new home and is extra busy growing out his haircut!

Herbie is one of our biggest success stories! Herbie is almost 10 years old and is just discovering what a joy life can be! Herbie was rescued from N. AZ where he lived in a pen, day and night, for the last 2 yrs. Herbie had lots of problems - poor nutrition, coat and nails in terrible condition, and a cyst in his eye. Herbie was surgically "taken care of", groomed, hugged and doted on - and adopted almost immediately by a wonderful couple in Gilbert. Mr. Love Bug now has everything he desires - including a dietitian for a Mom!

Samim, now "Hemingway" was adopted a week ago by a loving family from Higley. His new family was willing to help him over in his few bad habbits (dumpster diving & counter cruising!) and provide him with a loving home where he will get the loads of attention he lives for!. Hemingway now enjoys walks and lots of attention from his new family and neighbors as well!.

Blu was a 10 month old cutie out of the local shelter. His piercing blue eyes shone with love and excitement. Blu has to overcome a bout of severe pneumonia, but with the excellent care that his new Chandler family supplied him, Blu is now a picture of health and happiness! Adopted 12/03

Hamlet-aka Capt. Hamlet "Lord of the High Seas!" (Ok, Lord of Tempe Lake). Hamlet has found a wonderful home and with an equally wonderful family living along the banks of Tempe Lake. Hamlet took an immediate interest in the family boat and takes evening rides with his new family to the coffee shop where he meets with his many admirers!.

Diego has finally found Nirvana (and a girlfriend to boot)! It was love at
first sight for both Diego's new owner and "Master D's" new Pyrenees honey!
The ever unflappable Diego has now calmed down -- thanks to his new routine, his new home & family and affection, attention and boundless love. You can see the cloud of happiness over Ahwatukee!

Rosie is living the happy life in north Scottsdale with her new best friend "Angus" and her new Mom and Dad. Always the happy gal, Rosie fit right in and is a joy to be around.

Piper went to live with another Rescue Pyr in Queen Creek. She is doing wonderfully and really 'ruling the roost.' She adores her two new boyfriends -- one human and one canine and just idolizes Mom!

Gunner was a 6-ish yr old male that was quite underweight. He was extremely mellow and laid back - and very lovable! Great with kids and other animals. Gunner was adopted through a joint effort between AZPyrs and Foothills Animal Rescue. It was very rewarding to work together and find such a deserving dog a great home!

Pierre was real sweetie who was found wandering the streets of Tucson. His gentle disposition and loving heart make him a perfect match for his Queen Creek home. Pierre is now a "working /therapy dog" - his new home includes an autistic child that bonded with him immediately!

Taffy is an 8 month old spayed female who was turned in "for being too much of a puppy!" Miss Taffy was as sweet as candy at her foster home and learned new things on a daily level. Taffy was placed in a home with a Great Dane puppy in Scottsdale and now is enjoying every minute of her new life!

Madeline (never "Maddy") was an owner-turn-in, due to grave circumstances, and went through a time of grief and despair - but her true loving spirit has come through. Madeline was everything a true French beauty should be - refined, dignified, compassionate and loyal. It was "love at first sight" for her new owners. The reserved mademoiselle now resides in the "chateau" in Tucson being adored and pampered. She has definitely decided that 'love conquers all."

2 year old BigNlo came into AZPyr Rescue as a horribly matted and filthy mass of white hair. Mr. Big was shaved down, bathed/tick dipped and treated for kennel cough. At a whopping 147.5 BigNlo is learning new dietary habits and exercising regularly with his 6 other doggie friends at his new home...yup, you guessed it!...in Higley! Big will start Therapy Dog training in the fall.

Goliath is a 10 month old male who was an owner-turn-in. His happy and playful personality, gorgeous coat and loving heart all combined
to make him a super dog!

Adopted by a great Tucson family he now shares him home with his new best friend a 14-month old lab.

 Lucy is a 9 month old bundle of joy! She romps and plays with total  abandon. Her lovely soft coat, inquiring eyes and great disposition  literally stole the heart of new Chandler family. Lucy now has a frisky  playmate and children to call her own and is doing very well in her  new surroundings.

Le Chien (French for "the dog") was an owner-turn-in. This lovely Mademoiselle was everything a female Pyr should be - confident, loving, loyal and intelligent.

Le Chien was adopted by a couple in Tucson and their amazing GreatDane/Pill Bull mix and is living a wonderful and exciting life

 Reno (now "Dutch") now has the life all of us can be envious of!  Reno was adopted by a very loving and caring woman whose only  concern was to make him happy and healthy. Sharing time with his  newfound doggie friend, jetting back and forth to "his" northern AZ  ranch and soaking up rays in Scottsdale, Reno is one grateful fella!

 Sasha II now has LOTS of canine friends and human companions,  too! Sahas's Mom is a groomer and Sasha gets to go to work with  her! Such fun! She has adjusted nicely to her new home and loves to  play (gently!) with the Skiperkees.

Our little Libby, thanks to the help our her foster parents, is now healthy, wealthy and wise! "Libbs" has overcome ALL medical issues and is basking in the love and life of her new owners! Always a friendly and loving girl, she is enjoying life to the fullest!

 Missy has finally found heaven! Evolving from a shy, bashful girl,  Missy is now the delight of her forever home. Adopted by a fine family  with two (very responsible!) boys, she came out of her shell and is  busy romping and playing - and still loving mud puddles!

 Sasha not only got her eye surgury donated by a gracious vet, she  was adopted by one of the vet techs at the clinic!!. More to this story  soon!.

 Boscoe was an owner turn-in to the AZ Humane Society whom knew  who to contact AZPyrs Rescue immediatly. At 14 months old and  intact, Boscoe was experiencing some personality problems.  After  fostering, and being in the Lost  Dutchman Days Parade, Boscoe  has found himself a lovely home  with a very charming family.

 Fostered by Belen & Eric Almquist. Anthony was a stray found in  Tuscon. He is very nice looking you male with newly aquainted  manners. Anthony was adopted into a perfect home.

 Crumpet (now Alice) was another owner turn-in. 4 year old  crumpet  allegedly chased cattle and was somewaht unmanagable.  AZPyrs  quickly assisted the GCSGPC in placing Crumpet with  another  family in west Phoenix that owns another Great Pyrenees.

 Nanook (now Tucker) was an owner turn-in due to house renovations.  Nanook did not deal well with the newly installed  hardwood floors  and would not go up the staircase!.He is now residing in Gilbert in a  loving home with another Pyr, donkeys, and  goodness know what  else by now!!. He is in 7th heaven!.

 Sophoe's owners were not able to spend enough time with her.  AZPyrs helped the GCSGPC to quickly and efficiantly find a home
 for Sophie with a great family in Mesa.
